Italian, curly, in balls, cups, boxes... And where can you buy the most original flavors and the most interesting-looking ice cream in the capital?
If I had to name one simple snack that both children, teenagers and adults like - I would definitely say ICE CREAM. Driving around Poland, we often stop for frozen desserts. While ordinary grocery stores usually offer the same thing, you can go crazy in local ice cream parlors.
This time we took Warsaw as our wallpaper. Together, we chose a few ice creams that are the best in… the way they are served. The list will be updated whenever possible.
The best scoop ice cream
Ice Cream Ice Eater
ul. Indry Gandhi 17, Warszawa
This ice cream parlor was recommended to me by a few friends from Ursynów, but before I gathered myself and finally went here, it was already mid-November. 😉 Ice-eater has a variable offer, I took two safe flavors - pistachio, salty caramel and one strange and unpopular flavor of ... asphalt. I don't know if that's what asphalt tastes like, but they were great - with jelly bits. The prices of the balls are fair, the portions are large, the flavors are rather from the category of spices. I recommend to gourmands.
LodyIGGA
Parking in front of the Wilanowski Palace, Warsaw
We ate them for the first time a few years ago in Konstancin, where they were served from a booth surrounded by a few old tables, not very inviting to visit. You must know that there is a lot of competition in Konstancin. There are plenty of beautiful cafes and ice cream places here, and yet the biggest queue for years has been to Iggi.
If, on the occasion of our visit to Lublin, you envied the inhabitants Bosco ice cream- It's time to wipe your tears. Igga is big portions at very decent prices. They have flavors of watermelon, spruce, carrot, but also quite "ordinary" like strawberry or cream. They are velvety, intense, strongly flavored and made of natural ingredients. This is your missing argument to visitTężnie in Konstancin,Palace in Wilanów, theMazowiecki Landscape Park within Wesoławhere Igga has points. Unfortunately, they are addictive!
PasteLove ice cream
st. Porajow 3E, Warsaw
We discovered PasteLove atdescribing the most interesting places in Białołęka. We were intrigued by a small kiosk-type booth, to which there was a queue like in the days of communism. We couldn't resist standing at the gray end. Finally, after nearly 30 minutes, we ordered two balls.
PasteLove is not only cheap - the portions are large, and the ice cream has various flavors, e.g. azure cheese flavor. They taste perfect - very creamy, delicious, natural. During the holidays, we tried ice cream in various places in Warsaw and these, like few other places, tempted us several times. I highly recommend it, especially since the company has opened its premises in other parts of Warsaw!
Halina Krys ice cream
st. Jaroslawa Dąbrowskiego 71, Warsaw
WHalina Kryś pastry shop in addition to delicious cookies, you can try some of the best traditional ice cream in Warsaw! Perceptible fruit, velvety texture and memorable taste are three things that make it a cult place to which I like to come back.
Unicorn Ice Cream Traditional
st. Ludwika Narbutta 38, Warsaw
Oh my, how I love non-network, small manufactories. And if their specialty is delicious, ice cream desserts - I love them to death. Ice cream Unicorn is a really small point. All in all, it's easy to miss them when you walk by, and if you did - regret it! The tiny cafe, apart from coffee and various types of cakes, offers, of course, home-made ice cream. These are served in traditional wafers, and the portions themselves are of the right size. Two balls were easy to eat. At the very top, they are decorated with a tiny wafer that is supposed to be a reference to the unicorn's horn.
They taste similar to Pastelove, so they are delicious. A compact texture like butter that melts pleasantly on the palate. The flavors are intense, the cream in them is really noticeable and even though we tried a lot of flavors - we did not find any ice crystals or wateriness in any of them. If you're in the area, it's a sin not to come. I love coming here in the winter, when there is no ice cream everywhere. 🙂
Italian ice cream Limoni/Ciacho Café - scoop ice cream with unusual flavors
Limoni ice cream has several addresses in Warsaw - e.g. on ul. Jaroslaw Dąbrowski 1
For years, I have associated Italy with delicious pizza, liqueurs, wine, disgusting beer and the best ice cream. And I'm not talking about "Italian ice cream", but about the unique taste that has followed me since I was a child, when I tasted ice cream for the first time in Verona.
In Limoni you can buy characteristic Italian cakes, cake sold as a frozen dessert, but above all - buy artisanal ice cream. They are often treats with the most bizarre combinations you've come across. They change cyclically depending on the season and this is how you can find, for example, beetroot ice cream. We ate meringue and apple with mint. They were delicious, and the portions quite from the heart. If you've had too much cream and chocolate ice cream - you've just come to paradise.
N'Ice Cream - liquid nitrogen ice cream? Freezing fun!
st. Chmielna 9/5, Warsaw
N'Ice Cream is an ice cream parlor that stands out from the rest. Located almost in the heart of Warsaw, the café does something that is still quite rare in Warsaw: it uses liquid nitrogen to produce its desserts.
First, you choose one of three bases: milk, yogurt or soy milk (veggie is always a good idea). Then one of the 36 ingredients, and finally a decorative addition. The whole thing is effectively flooded with liquid nitrogen, so it is immediately frozen and mixed. The taste of ice cream with N'Ice Cream is a bit like frozen fruit or a fruit shake. Maybe it depends on what you get, because there are plenty of possibilities to compose your own taste!
Defect? Only one. If you choose the wrong ingredients - you can end up with something moderately edible. But who does not risk, then does nothe drinks creameat ice cream right?
At the end of the rainbow
al. Wyzwolenia 15, Warsaw
What's at the end of the rainbow? It turns out that not a pot of gold, but one of the best ice creams you can eat in the capital! This brand has several branches, and we were tempted for a huge portion of the sweet delicacy at Plac Zbawiciela.
The ice cream parlor is distinguished by original flavors (the offer includes such non-obvious flavors as cucumber flavor or tomato with raspberry). Due to the fact that the ingredients are natural - you can find many seasonal flavors here. The creators of this place attach great importance to the quality of the ingredients, so you should not be surprised by the colors deviating from the marketing standard, which are slightly less juicy, but much more delicious!
Malinova
al. Niepodległości 130, Warsaw
Malinova needs no introduction, because she constantly wins in various taste competitions for the best ice cream and for this reason she could not be missing here! We went for ice cream during a pandemic, sipping a delicacy in the car and enjoying its taste.
If you like natural taste, decent size, with an Italian element - a visit to this place is a must!
During the visit, we were also tempted by mini meringue and I will honestly say that it was also strong - the sweetness perfectly overcame the sourness of the raspberries.
Warszawski Lukier Żurawia – black ice cream with activated carbon [CLOSED]
OWe wrote a whole separate entry for Warsaw Lukra. You will try interesting sheikhs there. Recently, however, it turned out that Warszawski Lukier opened its second branch on Żurawia Street. And there - ice cream! As toppings are served, among others. Oreos and popcorn. We took black ice cream with activated carbon, but apparently in this confectionery you can also sometimes buy ice cream ... in a puff.
Melody - cold ice cream in a warm waffle
Melody has several addresses, all year round they are, among others, ul. Francuska 48, Warsaw
How do Melody taste? Well, they are a bit like music - either they will hit your taste right away, or they are completely not your rhythms. Here you will rarely find "your" flavor, because these change immediately as soon as the ice cream chute is emptied. What is worth emphasizing - ice cream of own production. Belgian waffles are just a background for the rest of our dessert.
We opted for Cafe Mocha (which was correct) with whipped cream and pomegranate sprinkles and green tea topping. Walnut (pretty good) with whipped cream, roasted almonds and chocolate topping and strawberry sorbet (amazing!) - of course with whipped cream and strawberry topping. The whole dessert looks delicious, and the waffles are not only nicely baked, but also very tasty. An interesting combination of a warm waffle and cold ice cream, which becomes a counterargument to the slogan: "It's cold today! You can't eat ice cream!"
However, Filip wouldn't be himself if he hadn't decided to buy something else. He took Melody's latest hit, which is... a duck.
This inconspicuous, not at all small - sour dessert - is made of lemon ice cream, passion fruit foam and served in a bowl resembling a bathtub. A revelation for fans of sorbets. If someone asks you where the interesting ice cream is - you can confidently answer: Melody, they serve really tasty duck there.
Thai Ice - ice cream in the shape of a rose
st. Nowy Świat 72, Warsaw
Our regular readers, seeing the photo - will probably nod their heads significantly. Indeed - they have already visited us once on the occasion of another entry. The one about Lublin. Fortunately, someone decided to use this idea and open a similar business in Warsaw.
So what are Thai Ice? Similarly - it is ice cream prepared in front of customers, on a special cold plate. You choose one of the 3 bases (cream, chocolate, green tea), the additive that you are going to mix, e.g. Kinder Bueno bar and sauce, e.g. toffee. From all this, something like a big pancake is created, which is then rolled into such small roses. If you envied the inhabitants of Lublin for this ice cream - you can breathe a sigh of relief. In our opinion, the Warsaw version is even better!
Cafe Crystal - ice cream with the consistency of snowflakes [CLOSED]
Snow ice cream? I haven't tried that yet! The popular Korean dessert bingsu is made with milk and various fruit additives. Using a special machine, it is made into "crushed ice", which really has a texture like freshly fallen snowflakes. On top of the ice cream there is also an "ordinary", traditional ball of ice cream.
It looks quite respectable and the small portions are really big. There was another version of this dessert on the Cafe Crystal flyer, and we expected it to be a similar size to the one in the photo above.
It turned out to be a cup for at least three very (very, very) hungry people! The little balls you see in the picture are frozen mango balls. The fruit is of very high quality, but the whole dessert is quite specific and will not delight everyone. It is definitely less creamy, but also less greasy. For people discovering new flavors, who want to try something original, or simply love Korean cuisine - Cafe Crystal should be on the list of places to visit. Here you can try more original flavors, e.g. bingsu ice cream with the taste of Matcha green tea.
Ice Dream - make your own ice cream - [CLOSED]
al. Jana Pawła II 82 (Arkadia), Warsaw
How often do you go out for ice cream and after you get yours you mentally curse that you'd better serve it yourself? Or that the "company set" includes whipped cream and sprinkles, but you just don't get what you like or not as much as you would expect? I have that sometimes. On the other hand, I like to prove myself at home when I buy whole boxes and try to serve it like in a cafe, but I always miss something. Let's face it - there is no point in keeping a whole supply of toppings at home for one ice cream dessert.
A very nice point has been created in Arkadia - Ice Dream, where you can make exactly the ice cream dessert you dream about. The choice begins at the wafer stage - a cone or a bowl? Or maybe a paper cup? Pink or plain or maybe sweet? Among the ice cream itself, there are 6 flavors to choose from. You put on as much as you want and no one tells you what you will eat and how much.
Once you get through this stage, it's time for add-ons - there are countless of them. From nuts, gummies, wafers, sprinkles, toppings, fruit… What's the catch? Nothing really - you pay for the final weight here. This ice cream from the photo cost about PLN 10, and I already had the impression that I had reached the limit of the capacity of the wafer. Honestly? It's a great thing, especially for kids!
If you think that the article needs to be supplemented, because there are other interesting ice cream parlors that we somehow had no idea about (and they are as fascinating as the ones mentioned) - be sure to write us about them in the comment. 🙂
